Unto All Pleasing God
The scriptures tell us a lot about pleasing God. Probably the greatest statement is found in the Book of Hebrews Chapter 11.
Heb 11:6 – without faith it is impossible to please God. For anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
The scriptures also point out to the devotional practice of doing everything unto all pleasing God SHOULD BE the Christians natural breath. The Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians at Colossae telling them…….
Col 3:9, 10 – since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.
It is of course perfectly natural for a born again Christian who has the life of God within to want to please God. In 1 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 14 tells is an amazing truth! The born again Christian has a spirit which is actually “ ONE” with the Spirit of The Lord Jesus.
First Cor 6:17 – He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

A DIVINE COMPASSIONATE HEART
The Lord Jesus had a truly a divine compassionate heart for the sinful and the broken. He saw men and women as sheep lost and lonely without having a shepherd. The burning desire of his compassionate heart was that broken men and women would be gathered into the Loving embrace of the Father.
Our Lord and saviour spoke these words as recorded in John’s Gospel chapter 6.
John 6: 37 thru 40 – Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never drive away. 38For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me. 39And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. 40For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Since, he ( or she) in Christ is ONE SPIRIT with The Lord, it follows that every born again believer should have a burning heart of love for the lost and broken.
DO YOU KNOW GOD’S WILL?
This “knowledge of God’s will” ( 1 Cor 1:9), is very important . Firstly there is a knowledge of God’s plan for His church through eternity. Next there is a ‘ general knowledge we can know of our ‘individual’ ‘ calling’ which will align with our God given temperament and ministry gift during our earthly life. God also wants us to understand our ‘ short term’ calling. We can develop s sensitivity to God’s moment by moment leading, since, ” as many are led by the Spirit are the sons of God, (Romans 8:14). Its a very important question to ask ourselves, ” Do you know God’s will?
