Salvation is God’s FREE GIFT! However from the day we come to Jesus, God desires to see us running the race to heaven. As needy sinners we can come to our loving saviour Jesus and He will give eternal life to us freely. He will do this as we rely, trust and put our confidence in Him, (John 3:16).. Along with our salvation God renews us from the inside – and gives us a desire to know, love and serve him.
Eph 2:8, 9 – by grace you have been saved through faith; and ]this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk with Him
It gives us a sense of destiny that, (as we see from verse ten), God has plans that as we ” walk with Him” He has good deeds planned from eternity that we would fulfil.
